VANESSA

Personal Style Inspiration: What inspires me the most about style is “experimentation and innovation." Not putting style in the box.
Style Icons: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Virgil Abloh, Aleali May, Issa Rae, Pharrell Williams
Favorite Designers: Alexander Wang, Candice Held, Cristobal Balenciaga, Oscar de la Renta, Jean Paul Gaultier
Favorite item in my closet: Make Art Not War Obey Jacket
Favorite Fashion Splurge: Accessories! Especially jewelry and clutches. I hunt for statement pieces in this category.
Current obsessions at the boutique: Franco Men's Sport Coat ✨ I have not seen anything like these beautiful creations. Vintage basmati rice bags with CH print linings 👌🏽This is a statement piece for a gentleman who appreciates fashion and is looking for that piece no one else would have.
The Desert Birds kimono is a top runner up for me. The print and palette is everything. Perfect for feeling glam in your own home or a show stopper on your next vacation or by the pool.
Ebony silk dress in black. That perfect little black dress with a twist. The ties on the back are aesthetically pleasing but most importantly allow for proper fitting that can accommodate a variety of body
types.
What I love about living in Palm Springs: The community and history. The community is very welcoming and inclusive. I always feel a sense of positivity everywhere I go. There is so much history from the architecture to the lands. Being a creative individual I find myself being inspired by something new every single day.
RACHEL

Personal Style Inspiration: Film noir, Emmanuelle Alt, Bond girls, Slim Aarons photography
Favorite Designers: Yves Saint Laurent (Le Smoking!), vintage Elsa Schiaparelli, and ever since Farrah Fawcett’s red swimsuit, Norma Kamali
Favorite item in my closet: The sexy Candice Held Mod Angles Amanda Tunic
Favorite Fashion Splurge: A pair of Salvatore Ferragamo black pumps that felt very Audrey Hepburn circa 1960. I had them for many many years, resoled twice, literally wore them to death.
Current obsessions at the boutique: The versatile and chic Athena camisole (it’s reversible!), a Poolside Breeze candle to fill any space with Candice’s delightful signature fragrance, and the exclusive one-of-a-kind Mexique/Les Cavaliers D'Or Vintage Hermès Scarf Tunic—simply stunning!
What I love about living in Palm Springs: The mountain views, magnificent sunsets, and overall relaxed easy-going vibe.
Advice for building a wardrobe: Invest in pieces that make you feel beautiful, and definitely quality over quantity.
SHAWNEEN

Personal Style Inspiration: My style is inspired by ANYONE who looks put together and wears the confidence
with it. David Bowie, Audrey Hepburn, Nikka Costa.
Sometimes the inspiration is from an average person who dresses anything but.
Favorite Designers: Givenchy, Dior, McCardell, Gucci, DVF, Halston, YSL,
Trina Turk and more. I appreciate the look of Chanel for its ability to make any
woman look sophisticated.
Favorite item in my closet: A vintage black polyester jumper. It's 70's all the way but so chic! Makes
me feel fancy.
Current obsessions at the boutique:
The wallpaper and home textiles. This really was the cherry on top of the sundae when I first
saw the CH window walking by years ago. When I come into
the boutique I always appreciate the artwork surrounding me.
The Rhett UV Floral men's shirt. I love the way this shirt fits. It can
be worn with or without a tight white ribbed tank. Tucked, untucked.
A woman can easily wrap it, belt it, sleeves rolled and collar up with gold hoops and
a sexy pair of heels.
The Crystal Python Loulou hits all the marks for me. The print is classic. This cut can be worn with a
tailored short, a super tight legging, a white pair of jeans or of course as a
poolside cover-up.
What I love about living in Palm Springs: I like the architecture, the San Jacinto with the starry nights and satellites, thrifting
and cocktailing (not in that particular order).
Advice for building a wardrobe:
- Well fitting garments, please!
- Love what you buy - all of it. The garments AND accessories. That way you always look your best!
- Get a hat. Let's dispel the myth that hats don't look good on you...you haven't found the right hat. This one thing elevates your look and it's fun.
MICHELLE

Personal Style Inspiration: My personal style is inspired by all things vintage. I love to mix and match eras from mid century through the 90’s, and typically go for a laid back / prep school vibe.
Favorite Designers: My all time favorite designer is Bonnie Cashin who is known for many things but is most often referred to as the mother of sportswear.
Favorite item in my closet: My favorite item in my closet by far is my 70’s Coach Courier leather handbag - the original Tabby. Paired with suede booties and Candice’s ‘Amanda’ tunic, it’s just too perfect *chef's kiss*!
Favorite Fashion Splurge: My favorite fashion splurge is a pair of vintage high-waist cutoff denim shorts that have a rose floral pattern. I love the thrill of the hunt when it comes to thrifting vintage, but when I found these at a local boutique I had to splurge!
Current obsessions at the boutique: Juliette “Fishnet Floral” Silk Tank Top - This top is a classic yet uniquely Candice floral print, you can dress it up or pair with jeans for a polished laidback look.
Amber "Snow Cheetah” Silk Dress has neutral colors yet still makes a huge statement - a little conservative, a little peek of skin, overall SO gorgeous! And hurry, there are only a few left.
Roxanne "Ikat Paisley” Midi Length Silk Skirt - Looks fabulous on everyone and the color is great for fall. It will easily transition to Spring by pairing with a tank and sandals.
What I love about living in Palm Springs: The never ending desert landscape views and the countless outdoor activities (especially rock climbing!) in town and surrounding areas.
Advice for building a wardrobe: My advice for building a wardrobe would be to fearlessly mix prints and eras, accessorize to your heart’s desire, and do what makes you feel the most fabulous. Cashin said it best, “Consider yourself a character, and dress the part!”
